On March 15, 2014 Romeo Capalla, Chairperson of the board of directors of the Panay Fair Trade Center (PFTC), was shot to death by unidentified assailants in Oton, Iloilo City. The Action Network Human Rights-Philippines (ANHRP) expresses concern over the rising number of political killings and other grave human rights violations. The ANHRP appeals to President Aquino (a.o.) to ensure a prompt, thorough and impartial investigation, the prosecution of the perpetrators and to set an end to impunity.
