Harassment of Pastor June Ver Mangao

16. April 2014 | News

On August 20, 2013 Pastor June Ver Mangao (UCCP) was subjected to surveillance harassment by alleged military intelligence of the 1st Infantry Batallion of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, based in Sta. Maria, Laguna. The Action Network Human Rights-Philippines (ANHRP) expresses concern that harassements like that against Pastor Mangao has lead to grave abuses (e.g. political killings) in many other cases targeting activists and church people. The ANHRP appeals to Justice Secretary De Lima to ensure a prompt and impartial investigation of said incident and disciplinary action against the perpetrators.
