Astrud Lea Beringer took over the project coordination of the AMP in March 2022. As a graduate of International Development at the University of Vienna and with several years of professional experience in human rights work in the Philippines, she is responsible for the AMP\u2019s lobby, advocacy and public relations work.<\/p>\n
The Action Network Human Rights \u2013 Philippines (\u201cAktionsb\u00fcndnis Menschenrechte \u2013 Philippinen\u201d or \u201cAMP\u201d) uses lobbying and public relations work to influence political decision-makers and multipliers in Germany as well as at EU and UN level with the aim of contributing to an improvement of the human rights situation in the Philippines.<\/p>\n
Since its foundation in August 2007, the network coordinates policy dialogues, campaigns and international events and publishes background papers about the human rights situation in the Philippines.<\/p>\n
The main topics of AMP’s work are the numerous cases of politically motivated killings, the continued practice of enforced disappearance and criminalization of political activists and human rights defenders. The AMP also addresses the underlying structural problems of impunity and restricted civic space in the Philippines.<\/p>\n
Member Organisations of the AMP are Amnesty International Germany, Brot f\u00fcr die Welt (BfdW), Dreik\u00f6nigsaktion (DKA) – International development organization of the Catholic Children\u2019s Movement in Austria, the\u00a0International Peace Observers Network (IPON), Misereor, Missio Munich, philippinenbuero e.V., and the United Evangelical Mission (UEM).<\/p>\n
